A staggering 1 in 5 children are unable to read well by age eleven and there has been a 97% decline in books available for 'reading for pleasure' since 2014 in the UK's primary schools. Children today who are not read to will already have a vocabulary over 200,000 words smaller than their peers by age 5.
Key to social mobility is donating books, we donate high quality story books to libraries in their thousands so that children can read and borrow them, again and again. We know children from low income households are hugely dependent on library books, donate today so we can help every child to become a reader.
